SAB FILE: LYCANTHROPY

Lycans, commonly known as werewolves, have no known origin, and date back several thousand years. Typically thriving in secluded areas of the world, they rely heavily on incest for repopulation. Alternately, many woman local to their territories end up being ritualistically and forcibly impregnated and made to bear the large Lycan offspring, before being eaten.

While mostly disorganized worldwide, regionally, there is an elder "pure blood" Lycan serving as the leader of the territory, some being almost one thousand years old. Their bodies will continuously produce new cells, granting them near immortality. However, this is only true for Elder Lycan.

Those with "tainted" genetics are estimated to live between 90-150 years, depending on their purity. Much like those of the subspecies Homo Sapiens, Homovorus, or Vampires, Lycans are considered a parasitic offshoot of humanity. Highly aggressive, more so with those produced via inbreeding, they can not coexist with humans, or any other SAB. As such, all Lycans are to be exterminated.

This has proven difficult due to their high rate of reproduction, as well as their shortened time to reach maturity, typically only taking 1.5-2 years before reaching
"adulthood".

We will continue to study the specimens currently in containment.
